There are a number of private investigators in San Francisco. None of them can compete with what Martin Investigative Services brings to the table.
Our private investigators typically provide a number of services in San Francisco: corporate investigation, interview and interrogation, background checks, finding missing people and surveillance work, insurance fraud investigation and unsolved crime case work, to name a few.
Over the last 40 years, we have developed solid relationships with local law enforcement, attorneys, and professionals in a number of fields.
More often than not, these relationships help us produce results in a short amount of time.
Our private investigators are former DEA, FBI, IRS, and Secret Service agents. This is a benefit that few other private investigators in San Francisco offer.
You can be assured that your case will be conducted with a level of professionalism that only years of training and investigative experience can bring.
Our San Francisco field office is available by appointment.
Sit down and meet us face to face and discuss the details of your case.
Here are a few real-life examples of recent private investigation cases we’ve had in San Francisco:
We were recently retained by a large well-known civil law firm in San Francisco that renders legal advice to financial institutions in the financial district of San Francisco. They were interested in our in-house computer system and how it could help this with asset searches and recovering monies owed from current judgments.
One of the senior attorneys shared with me that her daughter, a lawyer in another firm, was concerned that someone was “tapping” her phone and computers while she performed legal work for her firm at home.
We advised that we could perform an electronic eavesdropping detection sweep at her home. He was advised this was not a sideline for us but an integral part of our business. She was also referred to our website which deals with this subject matter, BugSweepTeam.com.
Our staff performed a two-day, three phase sweep of the subject’s residence. Our technician found a small camera secreted in the master bedroom of the residence. The subject was advised and immediately suspected her recently divorced husband.
A plan was devised by our investigative staff so that the husband was to take their two children while our client went away on business. Surveillance was maintained on the residence and shortly after her departure, our surveillance investigators observed the ex husband enter the residence with a key.
Previously placed cameras by our staff recorded the ex removing his hidden camera in our client’s bedroom. The local law enforcement agency was notified and charges are currently pending with the local police and district attorney’s office.
We were recently contacted by a thirty-eight year old female resident of San Francisco who saw us on TV. Her husband had been killed six months previously in a vehicle accident.
She was left with three children, two boys and a girl. There was a two million dollar life insurance policy with her as the beneficiary. There were also two homes and three commercial properties which were all free and clear. So the obvious question was, “what is the problem?”
She advised that the attorney handling her estate and the trust litigation had billed her $78,000.00+ for services rendered during the past few months. He stated that he was working on getting the insurance proceeds and arranging for real estate agents to sell the properties.
We immediately had her complete a timeline of events and gathered all relative and pertinent documents. It became clear that the attorney was taking advantage of this woman who was emotionally spent and not very street-smart to the assets she was entitled.
We recommended a new trust attorney who advised the current attorney through a substitution of attorney that his services were no longer needed. The new attorney obtained the insurance money within eight days.
The real estate agents were found by our office in a background search to be getting kickbacks from the attorney for the listings. New real estate agents known to our agency were contacted and sold the residential properties within 30 days. They recommended to our client that she keep the commercial properties and lease them out. The cash flow was found to be very positive versus selling them at that time.
The new firm sent a letter requesting a full accounting of the monies paid to the first law firm. When they could not justify their fees, an agreement was reached that they would return the sum of $65,705 to our client.
Janie Pang, living in Orange County, hired Martin Investigative Services to follow her husband, Danny Pang, who she believed to be having an affair. Mr. Pang was followed to San Francisco, where he was observed with another woman.
Mrs. Pang called Mr. Martin the next day at 11:15 am, asking if she could be an hour late for their noon appointment to review the video. Mr. Martin advised that would be no problem. The newspapers later reported the following: “Mrs. Pang was scheduled to meet with the investigator at noon. Shortly before that, the doorbell rang at the Pang’s home. The family’s maid heard Mrs. Pang, her 5-year-old boy at her side answer the door and begin talking to the visitor who asked if she was “Miss Pang.”
She then began screaming. The maid saw her chased by an elegantly dressed man carrying a briefcase and holding a gun. As Mrs. Pang cowered in a closet, he shot her dead.
Later police called Mr. Martin and advised they had found his business card on the nightstand near Ms. Pang’s bed. The detective later advised Mr. Martin of the death of his client. He further stated that Mr. Pang was the primary suspect.
The efforts of our investigator diligently tracking and recording video of Mr. Pang at the exact time his wife was murdered proved to be an airtight alibi for Mr. Pang. It was impossible for Mr. Pang to be the killer, as he was in a San Francisco restaurant at precisely the same time his wife was shot. In addition, his visit was recorded by a licensed investigator with the date and time imprinted on the video. Mr. Pang was never charged.
How ironic that the actions of Mrs. Pang hiring a private investigator saved her husband. A lawyer who worked for Mr. Pang was arrested for the murder. He had previously left his identification on the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco as if to indicate he had jumped off the bridge and committed suicide. His trial resulted in a hung jury.
Ironically, many years later, Mr. Pang called and requested that we provide investigative services to him and his companies. On September 13, 2009 Mr. Pang died after being rushed to the hospital. In January, 2010 the death was ruled a suicide. The toxicology report indicated toxic levels of oxycodone and hydrocodone. Mr. Pang was under investigation for owing investors to his PEM Group $823 million dollars.

Whenever the need arises for a private investigator, the only name that I consider for my clients is Tom.
